ChE Alumni Post Foundation Scholarship

ChE Alumni (’16) Thomas Nigl recently became a recipient of the Graduate-Level Roy G. Post Foundation Scholarship.

The Post Foundation has awarded scholarships to more than 150 undergraduate and graduate students from all around the world. The recipients of the Post Foundation scholarships are extremely accomplished, outstanding, and driven students who excel both inside and outside of their academic role.

Thomas Nigl is currently enrolled as a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Penn State University. While at Northeastern, Tom was an active officer in the AIChE Student Chapter and Co-Captain of the Chem-E-Car team, and co-coordinated the 2015 Northeast Regional AIChE Conference with the MIT AIChE chapter. At Penn State, he researches the use of liquid metal electrodes to remove fission products from molten salts to increase the efficiency of used nuclear fuel recycling processes. When he does get a free moment, he likes to scramble up rock walls, play the video game he has been sitting on for the last few months, and swim in any available body of water.

Congratulations Tom!
