A-Andrew D. Jones, III, assistant professor of chemical engineering, received a $10K grant titled “Enabling a Lab-On-A-Faucet” from the Sloan Scholars Mentoring Network of the Social Science Research Council with funds provided by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. The project’s goal is to develop an acid generating and storage device for use in lab-on-a-chip sensors. The long-term goal of this project is to develop inexpensive, low energy, point of use water quality monitors. This project will leverage the strength of Northeastern’s co-op program and the Kostas Nanoscale Technology and Manufacturing Research Center.
